Welcome to the Dance By Design Blog!
I am beyond excited to introduce all of you to an idea that has been on my heart for many years!
This blog was born from a desire to offer dance educators, professionals, and enthusiasts a place where they can find helpful, FREE resources and information regarding teaching/dance education, fine arts advocacy, and dance studio management. I am hoping it will become so much more than that.
The concept for this blog developed during my time as an undergrad student in the Journalism department at the University of Texas at Arlington (don’t come at me if I misspell something, lol). I wanted to use the skills I was gaining from that program to benefit the dance community at large. Furthermore, I recently started my own dance training and performing company for students of all ages in Arlington, Texas, and decided this blog would also be an excellent place for me to share updates and stories that come out of the Dance By Design companies.
In the future you can expect posts to focus on: dance education tips and activities; interviews with industry professionals; resources for fine arts advocacy; dance studio management tips and strategies; and photos and updates that empower and celebrate my very own students from the Dance By Design companies.
I aim to create a supportive culture that values empowerment, professionalism, and transparency.
I believe it is through connection and conversation that we will bring desired changes to communities. I would love to live in a world where dance is accessible to all individuals and this blog will hopefully be a step in that direction. There are so many caring and powerful voices in the dance industry that deserve to be heard. This blog is a platform that will proudly promote the lived experiences of individuals, groups, and organizations who work in the dance industry or whose work impacts it. I believe in unveiling the less visible narratives of those whose practices and perspectives may be unknown as to continue the generation and circulation of ideas.
If you are someone who has something to say or would like to see a topic/idea explored, feel free to reach out to our team by using the email or phone number on our contact page!
